Meet The Veterinarian
Dr. Raquel Naquin is a proud local alumna of Teurlings and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL), and she completed her clinical year of veterinary school at Louisiana State University (LSU). Growing up on a farm, she was always surrounded by animals and developed a deep passion for helping every creature that crossed her path. After practicing veterinary medicine for several years, she discovered her deep love for geriatric pets and their care. This led her to complete certifications in end-of-life and palliative care, as well as the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA) Master’s Program.
Dr. Naquin began offering in-home euthanasia services at the request of clients and quickly recognized the significant need for this service in Acadiana. She has been moved by the heartfelt appreciation from families who were grateful for the peaceful experience of saying goodbye to their beloved pets in the comfort of their homes or yards, where their pets felt most at ease.
As a mother, Dr. Naquin also has a huge heart for children and understands the difficult emotions they experience when losing a special companion that has become a part of their family. She is dedicated to helping children process their grief with compassion and provides parents with resources that include a Golden Paw Tattoo to assist with the process.
